Do you have stories about Taiwanese flavor that you want to recommend to people from around the world? Do you have stories about Taiwanese flavor that are unforgettable? Whether it is about a restaurant, a cuisine or a food ingredient, you can share your story by uploading it to the event website. Your entry should contain a title, an article of no more than 600 words and a maximum of five photos. In order to discover a richer and more diverse perspective of Taiwanese flavor, the 2019 "Explore Your Taiwanese Flavor" contest welcomes foreign friends to submit their contributions. Anyone with a valid ARC can participate!

The iSee Taiwan Foundation is dedicated to “become an essential portal for the world to see Taiwan.” It is committed to discover the beauty and unique characteristics of Taiwan and promote them to the world. In 2019, the Foundation invites the public to jointly explore classic Taiwanese cuisine. From now until Dec. 15, the Foundation will hold the “Explore Your Taiwanese Flavor” essay contest. The theme of the contest, which carries the top prize of NT$100,000, is “the Taiwanese flavor that you most wanted to recommend to the world.”
Every Taiwanese ingredient, every Taiwanese dish, has its own uniqueness. They are all “Taiwanese flavors.” In 2019, the iSee Taiwan Foundation takes “Taiwanese flavor” as theme and “terroir and culture,” “cuisine and taste” or “cooking techniques.” These are the three main aspects for its essay contest, whilst inviting the public to share their most touching, most recommended stories of “Taiwanese flavor” to the world. The goal is to discover the diversity of Taiwanese flavors and materials and summing up a statement that clearly describes “Taiwanese flavor” and showcases Taiwan’s food culture to the world.

After the “Food for Fun” contest in 2012, “Don Amigo” in 2016, “Gastronomy GuaBao” in 2017, and the “Sanbei Senses” in 2018, the Foundation launches the “Explore Your Taiwanese Flavor” contest in 2019. iSee Taiwan Foundation CEO Don Chen said that “through the Food for Fun series of activities, every year the Foundation aims to discover more Taiwanese specialties and stories and promote the vivid images of Taiwanese specialties to the world. The continuous action with the mentality of “Eat Locally, Think Globally” has received warm support from all walks of life in Taiwan.” Celebrities such as Stanley Yan, Matt Chen, Yilan Yeh, Janet Hsieh and Rifat Wu are the first to recommend their Taiwanese flavor through videos. They are hoping to call on people in Taiwan to share their Taiwanese flavor experience.
